Songs of Anarchy: Music from Sons of Anarchy Seasons 1–4 is the first soundtrack album for the television series Sons of Anarchy . The album was released on November 29, 2011 via Columbia Records and combines songs from the first four seasons.

The album consists almost exclusively of cover versions of well-known rock songs . In addition, the title track This Life is also on the album. The title track was written by Curtis Stigers , Dave Kushner ( Velvet Revolver ), Bob Thiele Jr. and Kurt Sutter , the series' creator. The song was nominated for an Emmy and won an award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
The album included Anvil , Franky Perez (from Scars on Broadway ), Lions , Alison Mosshart ( The Kills and Dead Weather ). With Katey Sagal , an actress from the series is also involved in the soundtrack.
Some of the songs were previously released on three EPs on iTunes : Sons of Anarchy: North Country (2009), Sons of Anarchy: Shelter (2009) and Sons of Anarchy: The King is Gone (2010).
In 2012 a second part of the soundtrack was released, entitled Sons of Anarchy: Songs of Anarchy Vol. 2 .
