Sowoneul Malhaebwa (Genie) is the second EP by the South Korean girl group Girls' Generation , released on June 29, 2009 by SM Entertainment .

The release of the EP has been postponed to redesign the album cover. The Japanese Kamikaze plane from World War II , a Mitsubishi A6M , was replaced by another plane. In addition, the NSDAP party eagle could be seen on the original cover . As a result, the release of the mini-album was delayed by four days to June 29, 2009.

The song "Sowoneul Malhaebwa (Genie)" is a Eurodance pop song. "Sowoneul Malhaebwa" (" 소원 을 말해봐 ") means something like "Tell me your wish". “ Genius ” is a metaphorical expression for the nine girls in the group who play the roles of “goddesses of happiness”. In the music video for "Sowoneul Malhaebwa", the nine members appear in naval uniforms. The song comes from the Norwegian production team Dsign Music . The ballad "One Year Later" is a duet by Jessica and Onew from SHINee .
