Sparkle McKnight (born December 21, 1991 in Chaguanas ) is a hurdler from Trinidad and Tobago who specializes in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Sparkle McKnight gained her first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2006 in Les Abymes , where she finished sixth in the 300 meter hurdles in 45.76 seconds. She then won the bronze medal over the hurdles at the Central America and Caribbean Junior Championships (CAC) in Port of Spain in 43.36 s and the silver medal in the Trinidadian-Tobagian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 47.28 min . The CARIFTA games in 2007 Providenciales she won in 43.65 s the silver medal in the 300-meter hurdles, was the 100-meter hurdles in 14.88 s Sixth and 56.80 s in the 400-meter dash Seventh . In 2015 she took part in the Pan-American Games in Toronto , where she finished fifth in 57.30 seconds and finished seventh with the relay after 3: 33.31 minutes. She then won the silver medal behind the American Tiffany Williams at the NACAC Championships in San José in 55.41 seconds and was fifth in the relay in 3: 33.85 minutes. At the World Championships in Beijing she reached the semifinals , in which she was eliminated with 56.21 s. The following year she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and was eliminated there with 56.80 s in the first round . In 2017 she reached the semi-finals again at the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 56.59 s.

In 2018 she first took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she finished seventh in 57.45 s. At the Central America and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla she came in fifth place in 55.56 s and sixth at the NACAC Championships in Toronto in 56.33 s.

In 2013 and 2016, Tracey became the Jamaican champion in the 400 meter hurdles.
