St. Andreas (Roßleben)

The Evangelical Lutheran , listed church of St. Andreas is located in Roßleben , a district of the town and rural community of Roßleben-Wiehe in the Kyffhäuserkreis of Thuringia . The parish KSP Roßleben belongs to the parish area Roßleben in Kirchenkreis Eisleben-Sömmerda the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Today, with a slated pitched roof covered hall church and with a hood provided steeple in the West were 1724-1728 of rubble built. The retracted, early Gothic , rectangular choir of the previous building was retained.

The nave has two-story galleries from the time it was built and is covered with a coffered , wooden barrel vault. On the mirrors there are paintings with the birth of Jesus, the Trinity in the center and the resurrection of Jesus Christ as well as the dove of the Holy Spirit from the end of the 17th century. The basket of the carved pulpit altar is carried by angels with outspread wings and is framed by inclined pilasters and columns . The side carved cheeks are decorated with putti . The entablature is finished with a segmental arch . From Baroque baptismal font only the octagonal curved foot is old.

On the upper gallery in the west behind the sill of balusters the brochure of the organ with 19 registers , spread over 2 manuals and pedal . It was built by Johann Christoph Mocker in 1728 , rebuilt by Hermann Hildebrand in 1885 and restored by Rösel & Hercher Orgelbau in 1996 .
