St. Martin (Bramsche)
St. Martin in Bramsche is the parish church of the parish St. Martin Bramsche, which belongs to the parish of Bramsche of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover .
Building history and description
Today's church was originally built in the first half of the 13th century as a late Romanesque hall church with a two-bay nave and a just closed choir made of quarry stone . The square west tower also dates from the 13th century. From 1275 to 1489 there was a collegiate foundation at St. Martin .
In the late 15th century, a Gothic choir with a five-eighth closure was added to the east of the former choir bay. In the choir vault is the coat of arms of Osnabrück Bishop Konrad III. von Diepholz (1455–1482). In 1696 the church was extended to the south by a three-bay aisle .
Today's main nave is equipped with groined vaults and belt arches , the windows are rounded . In the choir there is a ribbed vault , the three-part windows are pointed arches with fish bubbles tracery .
Interior
The oldest piece in the church is the Romanesque baptismal font from 1235, which is similar to that of the former collegiate church of St. Johannis in Langenhorst .
On the baroque altar is the coat of arms of the noble family von Langen , who lived at Sögeln Castle and who probably donated it during the construction of today's choir. The pulpit and the western gallery from the 17th century, several chandeliers from the 18th century and a silver chalice made in Osnabrück in 1709 are also baroque .
The altar cross dates from the 15th century, the organ front was made in 1820. In addition, there are several tombstones of the Langen families at Sögeln Castle and Varendorff at Gut Varendorf near Rieste in the church . Glass windows were designed and manufactured by Otto Linnemann from Frankfurt.
Four steel bells ring in the tower with the tones b °, d ', f' and g '.
organ
The organ of St. Martin was built by Rudolf Janke in 1990 behind the historical prospect . Only a Gedackt 8 ′ (today in the upper work) was taken from the old organ. The main work is divided into C and C sharp sides on the outside, the upper work above the breastwork in the middle. The pedal , which is made up almost entirely of wooden pipes, is located behind the case in the arch of the tower.
