The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Vinzenz von Paul in Auloh , a district in the east of the Lower Bavarian district capital Landshut , is a modern church that was built in 1961/62. The patron saint of the church is St. Vincent de Paul (Feast Day: September 27).

history

After the Second World War , building land was won around Landshut due to the regulation of the Isar . Auloh, east of the closed urban area of Landshut, was also heavily settled, especially by expellees , including numerous Catholics, which made a church of its own necessary. The foundation stone for the building was laid in 1961; In the following year, the church was provisionally assigned. It was initially run as a branch church of the Adlkofen parish . In 1966 the consecration and at the same time the elevation to the expositur took place ; since then an independent pastor has been active in Auloh . In 1975, in the immediate vicinity of the church, the St. Vinzenz von Paul kindergarten, which is sponsored by the parish, was opened. In 1986 the parish hall was inaugurated, in 1989 the Marienbrunnen on the church forecourt. In 2001, Bishop Manfred Müller raised the parish of St. Vinzenz von Paul in Auloh to its own parish .

description

architecture

The parish church of St. Vinzenz von Paul is a rectangular building with a high pitched roof that looks like a tent outside and inside . In the west, a semicircular apse adjoins the community room , which contains the altar area raised by three steps. Opposite on the east side is the main portal , above it the organ gallery . The church interior is illuminated on the east side by trapezoidal lattice windows, which are arranged in a gradation following the roof pitch. On the north and south sides, the room draws its light through trapeze-shaped lattice windows arranged in groups of three. In addition, elongated glazings are arranged at the transition from the community room to the apse, which occupy the entire height of the apse. This creates a lateral lighting of the choir room .

Furnishing

A larger than life figure of Christ crucified hangs in the apse , which was created around 1965 by the Munich sculptor Anton Rückel . This is backed by a painting by the church painter Tobias Kammerer from Rottweil , on which a subtle cross made of narrow red lines replaces the missing cross beams. The surrounding painting of two twisted , upwardly striving vertebrae is supposed to symbolize the resurrection of Jesus Christ . As a counterpoint to this, a horizontal, purple-colored beam emerges, at the height of which a group of wooden figures is attached to the church patron Vincent von Paul. The celebration altar and the tabernacle foot come from the Landshut stonemason Hauptner. The entire equipment of the choir is a foundation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent von Paul from the mother house in Munich.

On the western front wall, to the right of the apse, there is a side altar, which is decorated with a portrait in honor of the church patron, Vincent de Paul . On the left side, instead of another side altar, there is a Madonna in the midst of a halo, which Anton Rückel also created. A new font was erected diagonally in front of it in 2010 . This consists of a round stone pillar made by the stonemason Hauptner from Landshut, a stainless steel basin made by a local metal construction company , and a lid that was taken over from its predecessor. The Way of the Cross was designed in 1965 by the Straubing artist Marianne Worlitscheck. A row of apostles can be seen on the parapet of the organ gallery. Twelve picture panels with the apostles in traditional clothing can be seen here side by side.

The handles of the double doors of the main portal were also designed by Anton Rückel. On the outside at the upper end of the handles there is a medallion with the letters Chi (Χ) and Rho (Ρ) for “Christ”. Below that are the letters Alpha (Α) and Omega (ein) and a fish symbol . On the inside there is a medallion with a cross in the middle of the handles, underneath the letters ΙΧΘΥΣ for "Christ". These letters also form the Greek word for "fish", hence the symbolism.
