The Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes runs through Staden in a north-south direction , but it is not visible here. The small fort Staden was located in the southern new development area in the area of ​​Römerstrasse / Am Römerkastell .

Staden was first mentioned in 1156 when Staden Castle was built there. In 1304 the village received city rights. It was part of the Staden inheritance . In 1822 the place came to the district of Büdingen , in 1852 to the Friedberg district . On December 31, 1971, Staden was incorporated into the municipality of Florstadt. The village is now a district of Florstadt, which received city rights in 2007.

Bridge of Sighs

Bridge of Sighs

Staden is popularly known as "Little Venice". In the village there are many bridges over the Mühlbach and the Nidda . The most famous of them is the Bridge of Sighs. Built in 1684 on wooden stakes above the Mühlbach, the condemned crossed this bridge to the place of execution. In 1991 it was renovated.

Löw's castle

The Löw'sche Schloss was built in 1746 by Johann Friedrich Ferdinand von Löw . The mansion garden only partially exists today. Today the town hall of Staden is located in the castle.

Sauerborn

Staden Castle

The remains of Staden Castle with the preserved gate tower and Ysenburg Castle are on a river island between the Nidda and the Mühlbach .
