Parody as the basic theme or background of the overall plot:

  • Galaxy Quest - Planlessly through space : Big commercial Hollywood film from 1999 with a star cast. With a very clear reference to Star Trek, which comes along without the often found “sketch-like” sequence of individual gags. Also in budget and trick technique one of the most outstanding parodies. Galaxy Quest is not only a parody of the content of Star Trek: TOS, but also of the actors who have been rolling around the province with their roles for decades, and of the fan base with their conventions.
  • (T) Spaceship Surprise - Period 1
  • Ömer the Tourist in Star Trek
  • Pointless in Space : A non-commercial parody in which individual episodes or excerpts from the series Star Trek: The Next Century were re-dubbed. As one of the first known German fan synchros , two episodes of SiW were broadcast on the big screen onAugust 22, 2002 as part of the event Siegen is ready for film in the Siegen Open Air Cinema - with the permission of Paramount Pictures.

Parodies as skits or in another short form (e.g. short appearances, quotations):

  • Spaceballs : The spaceball command ship masters different speeds, which instead of "warp" are now called "ridiculous speed" or "ludicrous speed" (insane speed) above the speed of light. Spock's neck grip also occurs. With regard to beaming, the figure of Scotty is referred to as Schrotty (in the original Snotty) and President Skroob refers directly to the television series with the statement "it works on Star Trek". In the German version you can hear: "It also works in the spaceship Duck Shit".
  • The unbelievable journey in a crazy spaceship (see also there under " Trivia "): With an appearance by William Shatner and a flyby of the "real" Enterprise (from the opening credits of the original series).

Musical works / music videos

  • The group "The Firm" had a number one hit in England in 1987 with "Star Trekkin '".
  • Edelweiss : Raumschiff Edelweiss (1992) - TOS parody, in particular due to the accompanying video, in which even Klingons appear. Successful in Austria (1st place) and Germany (7th place).
  • "The Star Track", a song by " JBO " from 1997.
