Stavros Christoforidis ( Greek Σταύρος Χριστοφορίδης , born April 20, 1974 in Noes , GDR ) is a Greek biathlete . He took part twice in the Winter Olympics and eight times in the biathlon world championships .

Stavros Christoforidis lives in Drama and trains in Veria . The biathlete from EOS Dramas has been practicing his sport since 1990 and has been a member of the Greek national team since then. In 1993 he made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup at competitions in Bad Gastein and Pokljuka . With results between 132 and 142, they were also the worst of the Greeks. The following races in Hinton and Canmore brought the best results in the World Cup for almost ten years with two 78th places in the individual and one 78th place in the sprint. In 1995, Christoforidis ran his first biathlon world championships in Antholz and finished 83rd in the individual, 84th in the sprint and 23rd in the relay. Also at the next world championships, 1996 in Ruhpolding , 2000 in Oslo , 2001 in Pokljuka, 2003 in Khanty-Mansiysk , 2004 in Oberhof , 2005 in Antholz , 2007 in Hochfilzen and 2008 in Östersund brought results in the 80s, since 2004 in 90 to 100 range. Better results like a 73rd place in 2003 are rare.

In Biathlon European Championships Christoforidis launched in 2000 in Kościelisko , 2001 in Haute-Maurienne and 2007 in Bansko . The Greek did not even finish in half of all planned or started races or even started at all. In 2000 he was 57th in the sprint, 60th in the individual in 2001 and 58th in the sprint in 2007. The climax of Christoforidis' career were starts at two Olympic Winter Games so far. 2002 he won in Salt Lake City in individual as well as in the sprint ranks 87, 2006 in Turin 83rd in the sprint and 87 in singles. In the 2003 World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, the Greek took 73rd place in an individual and thus achieved his best result.
