Stefan Schmid (born December 28, 1986 in Peißenberg ) is a German triathlete and Ironman winner (2015). He is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Stefan Schmid started triathlon in 1998.
In 2010 he became German triathlon champion in the middle distance in the M20 age group and in October 2010 Schmid won his age group of 18 to 24 year old men at the Ironman Hawaii .

Schmid has been a professional athlete since 2011 and starts for the Post SV Weilheim association .
In 2013 he was able to qualify again for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii, as the youngest professional in this race he reached 26th place.

In July 2015 he was fourth at the German championships on the long-distance triathlon in Roth and in November he won the Ironman Mexico in Cozumel .

In the 2016 season Schmid starts for the Austrian pewag racing team of the chain manufacturer pewag .
