geography

The wasteland, consisting of a residential building and four outbuildings, is on the left bank of the Wieseth . State road 2222 runs directly north of the village and leads to Wieseth (center, 0.6 km northwest) or Forndorf (0.8 km east). To the north across the state road is farmland.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1444 as "Steckmühl". At that time, the miller was subject to both the von Thann and Heilsbronn monastery.

Steigmühle was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . The caste office Gunzenhausen was the landlord of the grinding mill . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Steigmühle received the number 72 of Wieseth when the house numbers were assigned. 1.7 hectares of arable land belonged to the property  . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Steigmühle was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Wieseth. After 1885 the Steigmühle was no longer run as a district.
