Steinerberg is a scattered settlement ( scattered houses ) in the municipality of Altenfelden in Upper Austria ( Rohrbach district ). The village has 55 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

geography

Steinerberg is located in the extreme south of the Altenfelden community and in the south of the cadastral community of the same name. The settlement extends along the Parteistein Bezirksstraße (L 1517), with the village of Seibersdorf joining the municipality of Kirchberg ob der Donau to the south . Ebersdorf and Mayrhof, which also belong to Kirchberg, are to the south-east and south-west. In the north is the village of Unteredt . In addition to the buildings along the Bezirksstraße, the buildings Steinerberg 8 (Thurnbauer Farm) and 12 to the northeast also belong to the village. A total of 15 buildings were counted for Steinerberg in 2001, with 14 buildings having a main residence and 22 apartments or 18 households. There were also seven agricultural and forestry facilities and one job.

History and population

The speaking place name Steinerberg was first mentioned in a document in 1303. In 1869, 38 people lived in ten houses in Steinerberg. By 1910, the population doubled, with 74 residents in eleven houses that year. All residents of the village were of the Catholic faith.
