The Sterkrader Heide is a district of Oberhausen and the district of Sterkrade , which at the end of 2008 had around 3,000 inhabitants and an area of around 1.7 km². The Reinersbach flows through the district in a green belt (Reinersbachtal) from northeast to southwest. In the north, the Sterkrader Heide borders on the A2 motorway ( Königshardt ) and Fernewaldstrasse ( Kleekamp ), in the east on Herzogstrasse ( Klosterhardt ), in the south on Tackenberg , to which the district is statistically counted, and in the west on Alsfeld . The Sterkrader Heide is one of four Oberhausen districts that have Heide in their place name. They pay tribute to the landscape that shaped this area until the end of the 19th century.

Infrastructure

The Sterkrader Heide is mainly characterized by a forest and heather area, on the edges of which there are residential areas. Due to its proximity to the Oberhausen-Königshardt motorway exit of the A2 , the district is well connected to the transport network. With the bus lines SB92, 960 and 976 of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr , the Sterkrader Heide is integrated into the local transport network.
