Barmingholten is a district of Oberhausen , which is located in the north-west of the Sterkrade district and at the end of 2012 had around 3,150 inhabitants and an area of 215 hectares. It borders on Dinslaken -Barmingholten in the north and west , on Schmachtendorf in the east and on Holten in the south .
The place was in 1917 in part from the mayoralty Hiesfeld extracted and together with Schmachtendorf and Walsumer Mark after Sterkrade incorporated. Like Styrum , Dümpten , Vonderort , Dellwig , Frintrop and Biefang , Barmingholten was also divided between two cities. The other part has belonged to Dinslaken since 1917 . Barmingholten has been a district of Oberhausen since 1929. Many new houses and apartments have been built in recent years. The best-known property is the so-called solar settlement on Emmericher Strasse / Tackstrasse. Barmingholten is connected to the local transport network by bus routes 26, 918, 954 and 957 of the Rhein-Ruhr transport association.
