Brink is a small district in the north of Oberhausen , which is statistically part of the Walsumermark district , which had around 850 inhabitants at the end of 2012 and covers an area of 183 ha. It is located directly at the Dinslaken- Süd motorway junction on the A3 . Brink used to belong to the mayor's office in Hiesfeld . In 1917 the area came to Sterkrade , which in turn became part of Oberhausen in 1929.
The Friedensdorf Oberhausen , which opened in 1969, belongs to Brink . To the east of Brink lies the Hirschkamper Forest, which is why this district is often simply called Oberhausen-Hirschkamp. Brink is connected to the local transport network with the 954 bus of the Rhein-Ruhr transport association. The “Brink Nordschacht” stop is reminiscent of the former weather shaft of the Osterfeld colliery sunk between 1963 and 1967 on Gabelstrasse, the daytime facilities of which were demolished in 2007.
