Sudha Singh ( Hindi सुधा सिंह ; born June 25, 1986 in Raebareli , Uttar Pradesh ) is an Indian athlete who specializes in obstacle courses .

Athletic career

Her first international championships were the Asian Championships in Guangzhou in 2009 , where she won the silver medal behind the Japanese Yoshika Tatsumi in ^ 0: ^ 0.77 minutes . The following year she was fifth at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi and won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in 9: 55.67 minutes. In 2011 she won the silver medal again at the Asian Championships in Kobe ; this time behind the Japanese Minori Hayakari . In 2012 she qualified for the first time for the Olympic Games in London , where she was eliminated with 9: 48.86 minutes in the lead -up. In 2013 she won the silver medal behind Bahraini Ruth Jebet at the Asian Championships in Pune and took part in the World Championships in Moscow , where she did not qualify for the final with 9: 51.05 min.

In 2014 she missed a medal at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea as fourth and could not repeat her success. In 2015 she took part in the marathon at the World Championships in Beijing , where she finished 18th . In 2016 she again took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but did not qualify for the final this time either . At the Asian Championships in 2017 in Bhubaneswar , she won the gold medal in a time of 9: 59.47 minutes. The following year she won the silver medal behind Winfred Mutile Yavi from Bahrain at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 9: 40.03 minutes .

In 2007 and 2008 as well as in 2010 and 2013, Singh became Indian Champion in obstacle course. She graduated from the University of Lucknow and is employed by the Indian Railway Company.
