Susanne "Susi" von Borstel (born June 8, 1981 in Schlaifhausen , as Susanne Zettl ) is a former German triathlete and long-distance runner who is now active as a ski mountaineer .

Career

Triathlon since 1999

Zettl has been running triathlons since 1999 and she started for the Erdinger alcohol-free team .

In 2005 she was able to win the Mallorca Marathon and she was sixth in the Challenge Roth at her long distance premiere . She won the Gore-Tex Trans-Alpine-Run , a week-long stage run across the Alps (together with Matthias Dippacher in the "Mixed" category).

In 2006 Susi Zettl was second in the first edition of the Antalya Marathon and tenth in the Challenge Roth in 9:49:13 hours, making her third in the German championship. At the Munich Marathon she finished 18th in 2:58:53 hours.

Her greatest success so far is the 37th place (2nd place in the 25-29 age group) in 10:15 hours at the Ironman Hawaii 2007, for which she qualified with a seventh place at the Ironman 70.3 in Wiesbaden.

Since 2006, the B- she belonged squad long distance of the German Triathlon Union (DTU) and she started for the SSV Forchheim, with which it was in 2007 champion of the Regional.

Ski mountaineering since 2007

Today Susi von Borstel , as she has been called since her wedding, lives in the Allgäu and is active as a ski mountaineer.

On February 4, 2018, she became German ski mountaineering champion and was able to successfully defend her title from the previous year. In February she was at the European Ski Mountaineering Championships in Sicily, but had to cancel a planned start for the German team due to illness.
