Christian Brader (born May 6, 1980 in Memmingen ) is a German triathlete .

Career

Christian Brader started his first popular triathlon in 1994.

First Ironman start in 2006

He started the Ironman long distance for the first time in 2006 in Frankfurt (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and was able to qualify for a starting place at Ironman Hawaii with 18th place , where he finished 38th. Second overall in the 25 to 29 year old age group.

As the first athlete from TV Memmingen , he obtained a professional triathlon license in 2008. In the same year he joined the German National Long Distance Team ( DTU ) and has been a professional triathlete for the Erdinger Non-Alcoholic Team since 2008 .

Second in Ironman Canada 2010

In August 2010, Christian Brader was able to qualify with second place at Ironman Canada for a starting place at Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championship), where he finished 16th.

In 2014, Brader was able to qualify for a starting place at Ironman Hawaii in October for the seventh time with his fourth place at the Ironman Mont-Tremblant , where he finished 30th. Since February 2015 Brader starts for the Italian PPR team (formerly known as "Peperoncino Triathlon Team"). In August 2017 he was third in Regensburg at the German championship on the long distance triathlon. In 2018 Christian Brader broke off the season prematurely for health reasons, in 2019 he made a comeback with a 6th place at the Ironman Mont-Tremblant in Canada.

Brader trains and lives in Switzerland , where his partner and now trainer Petra Janeckova (also a triathlete) lives. He was coached by Wolfram Bott. His brother Gerhard is also an amateur in the triathlon.
