Sven Mattke (* 1979 in Nordhausen , Nordhausen district ) is a German actor .

Life

Sven Mattke grew up in his hometown Ellrich and his hometown Nordhausen. After graduating from the Herder-Gymnasium in Nordhausen, he first trained as a nurse . At the Nordhausen Theater he was active as an extra in several opera productions , and then decided to become an actor.

From 2003 to 2007 he completed his acting studies at the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg . In 2005 he won the ensemble audience award at the Theatertreffen German-speaking drama schools in Frankfurt am Main for his production of Nit-Wits based on James Stern (director: Jutta Hoffmann) . During his studies he played at the Schauspiel Kiel (2006), at the Thalia Theater Hamburg (2006) and at Kampnagel (2006).

From 2007 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Hanover Theater . There he played u. a. the high school student Ernst Röbel in Spring Awakening (2007, director: Nuran David Calis ), Harold in Harold and Maude (2008, director: Susanne Lietzow ) and the lackey Jascha in Der Kirschgarten (2009, director: Lars-Ole Walburg ).

In 2010 he went to the Hessisches Landestheater Marburg for two seasons . There he appeared as Don Karlos (2010, director: Roscha A. Säidow), as clerk Wilhelm in The Black Rider (2010, director: Matthias Faltz ) and as Hugo in Jean-Paul Sartre's play The Dirty Hands (2010, director: André Rößler ), which was awarded as the best production at the Hessian Theater Days in 2011.

In June / July 2012, he starred in a production of the new drama Erfurt at the summer theater in Erfurt Barfüßerkirche the Romeo .

From the 2013/14 season until the end of the 2015/16 season, Sven Mattke was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg . There she made her debut as Valere, a servant of Harpagon and his daughter's lover, in Der Geizige (director: Stephan Suschke ).

His other Würzburg roles included a. a. Edgar in König Lear (2013, directed by Stephan Suschke), Thomas Buddenbrook in a Buddenbrooks stage version (2014, directed by Malte Kreutzfeldt ), Maik Klingenberg in Tschick (2014, directed by Nele Neitzke), Bassanio in The Merchant of Venice (2014 , Director: Stephan Suschke), Andrej Bolkonskij in a war and peace adaptation (2015, director: Malte Kreutzfeldt), the younger son Happy in Tod einer Salestrreisenden (2016, director: Katrin Plötner ) and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet (2016, Director: Antje Thoms ).

In the 2014/15 season he also played the world premiere of Sturm (based on motifs from the novella by Ernst Jünger ) at the Mainfranken Theater , a solo evening that was based on Mattke's interpretation in terms of both dramaturgy and performance.

In the 2016/17 season he went to the Landestheater Linz in Upper Austria as a permanent member of the ensemble . There he played u. a. Jason in Das goldene Vlies (2017, directed by Susanne Lietzow) and the editor Hovstad in Ein Volksfeind (2017, directed by Christoph Diem ).

He has been a freelance actor since 2018. In the 2017/18 season he made a guest appearance at the Nordhausen Theater and appeared at the Thuringian Castle Festival in Sondershausen as manager and narrator Hans in the musical Die Comedian Harmonists by Gottfried Greiffenhagen and Franz Wittenbrink . In the 2018/19 season he will be guest at Theater Erlangen in the roles of Flake / 1. Greengrocer / judge in a production of the Brecht play The restrained rise of Arturo Ui .

Sven Mattke also worked in several television productions. Mattke had his first major television production in the 10-part Belgian television series In Vlaamse Velden (2014), a family saga set during the First World War . From episode 3 he embodied the injured German Sergeant Hans-Peter Breitlinger, who was hit by shrapnel and who is quartered in the family house, around whom the family history revolves. In November 2018 he was in the ARD series Familie Dr. Kleist can be seen in a supporting role as Thomas Seegen, who is involved in a bus accident together with his partner.

He also took part in various radio play productions at NDR . Sven Mattke lives in Leipzig .
