In 1982/83 Sverker did basic military service in Eksjö . He took part in research on particle physics and particle acceleration at the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) and the Large Electron-Positron Storage Ring (LEP) as well as the Helios (NA34) experiment at CERN . At the end of May 1990, Sverker received his doctorate ( Ph. D. ) from Lund University with his dissertation A study of μμ and eμ-pairs produced in 450 GeV / c p-Be-collisions in HELIOS, and software development for DELPHI .

With a scholarship from the Manne Siegbahn Institute , he carried out research in the field of neutrino astronomy from November 1990 to June 1992 and was involved in the evaluation of the data from the AMANDA "telescope".

After moving to Jönköping in 1992, he devoted himself to linguistics and researched the origin of languages ( biolinguistics ) and the third factor according to Noam Chomsky . His book Origins of language , published in 2005 . Constraints on hypotheses. Converging evidence in language and communication research has been reviewed in linguistic journals and in American Scientist . From 2007 to 2012 he was seconded as a project manager at the Consortium for Intercultural Reflective Teachers (CIRT) at the University of Chichester in Chichester , southern England, and at Pennsylvania State University (PSU). There he met his future wife.

He completed his studies in linguistics at Lund University in 2012 as a Master of Arts ( MA ). With the essay The case for Neanderthal language - How strong is it? he presented the theory in Kyoto in 2012 that Neanderthals communicated by means of a language . From 2003 to 2014 he was Vice Dean (Deputy Dean) at the University of Education and Communication (Högskolan för Lärande och Kommunikation HLK) at Jönköping University . Since 2014 he has been Head of the Department for Education and Research at Dalarna University .

Wikipedia

Sverker Johansson has been a user of the Swedish language Wikipedia since 2007 and an administrator since 2010 . As a software developer , he wrote algorithms for the Lsjbot in 2009 , a bot that hit the 100,000 article mark on August 26, 2010 on Wáray-Wáray-Wikipedia . In winter 2011/12 he developed at the University of Dalarna the lsjbot continue with the in Swedish - Cebuano - and Waray -sprachigen Wikipedia have been carried out more than three million new articles since in 2009. In doing so, data was automatically extracted from databases such as the Catalog of Life , integrated into a given basic structure and miniature articles, so-called stubs, generated from them. Sverker and his bot were widely reported internationally in the summer of 2014. The Australian Sydney Herald compared Johansson's achievements with the automated book-writing Philip M. Parker .
