Szuć ( German Schutt's ) is a village in the Polish Warmia and Mazury . It belongs to the rural community Jedwabno (1938 to 1945 Gedwangen ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).
Geographical location
Szuć is located in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 26 kilometers northeast of the former district town of Neidenburg ( Nidzica in Polish ) and 19 kilometers southwest of today's district metropolis Szczytno ( Ortelsburg in German ).
history
In 1571, the former was Sutz founded and named after 1574 Shu Chen , after 1871 then Schutt's . The small rural community came to the Jedwabno district in 1874 , which - renamed "Gedwangen District" in 1938 - existed until 1945 and belonged to the East Prussian Neidenburg district . 535 inhabitants were registered in Schuttschen in 1910. Their number decreased to 498 by 1933 and was still 436 in 1939.
Schuttschen was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war with all of southern East Prussia . The village was given the Polish name form "Szuć" and is today as the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) a place in the network of the rural community Jedwabno (1938 to 1945 Gedwangen ) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Voivodeship Belonging to Warmia-Masuria . In 2011 Szuć had 245 inhabitants.
church
Until 1945, Schuttschen was ecclesiastically oriented towards Jedwabno : towards the Evangelical Church of Jedwabno in the church province of East Prussia, the Church of the Old Prussian Union, as well as the Roman Catholic Church there in the diocese of Warmia . The relationship between Szuć and Jedwabno still exists today for both denominations, although the village is now part of the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and the current Archdiocese of Warmia .
traffic
Szuć is located south of Jedwabno and can be reached directly from there via Voivodeship Road 508 . There is no connection to rail traffic .
