1814. After ten years in Africa, the Briton James Delaney returns to London to take on his father's inheritance. He has 14 stolen diamonds in his luggage.
When he arrived in England, he turned down an offer from the British East India Company to sell the Nootka Sound Fjord , which his late father owned. As a result, he is targeted by the powerful East India Company - and at the same time between the fronts of the United States and Great Britain. The fjord represents a strategically important piece of land in the British-American War from which the winning party to the conflict would benefit. Delaney now founds his own trading company and takes part in the war. His interest is to get revenge for his father's death.
