Tadas Kumeliauskas (born December 11, 1990 in Elektrėnai ) is a Lithuanian ice hockey player who last played between November 2017 and April 2018 for the Dresdner Eislöwen in the DEL2 . Like Tadas, his older brother Donatas is a Lithuanian national ice hockey player.
Career
Clubs
Tadas Kumeliauskas began his career as a hockey player in his hometown Elektrėnai with the Lithuanian record champions SC Energija , for whom he made his debut in the then Latvian league in 2004 . After two Lithuanian national championship titles with Energija, he switched to Latvian league rivals HK Liepājas Metalurgs for one year in 2006 . He then played for Energija again for two years and won two more championship titles in 2008 and 2009. In 2008/09 he also played for the Dover Seawolves in the United States. After spending the 2009/10 season at HK WMF Saint Petersburg , he played for three years at HK Arystan Temirtau , with whom he won the Kazakh Cup in 2011. From 2013 he played for Turun Palloseura in the Finnish Liiga and showed increasing performances until 2016, so he was also able to convince in European competitions. In his best career season - he was the fourth best scorer on his team in 2015/16 with 25 points in 37 games - groin problems forced him to end the season and Kumeliauskas missed the entire 2016/17 season. After several operations on the groin and careful training, he took part in training at HC Dynamo Pardubice in the summer of 2017 . However, this commitment did not result in a commitment by the Lithuanian, only in November 2017 did he receive a trial contract with the Dresdner Eislöwen from the DEL2 . A few days later, his contract was extended until the end of the 2017/18 season.
International
For Lithuania, Kumeliauskas already took part in the junior division at the U18 World Championships in Division II in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 , when he contributed to the ascent of the Lithuanians as the top scorer and with the most assists, and in Division I in 2008 and in the U20 World Championships in Division II in 2007 when he was the tournament's best assists, in 2009 when he was voted the most valuable player of the tournament as the top scorer, best preparer together with his compatriot Povilas Verenis and top scorer , and in 2010 when he was the top scorer, best assist, second best scorer (behind the Dutchman Nardo Nagtzaam ) and player with the best plus / minus balance was also named the best striker of the tournament, and Division I 2008 participated. Together with Povilas Verenis he is the top scorer of the Lithuanian U20 selection with 49 points .
He made his debut in the Lithuanian men's national team at the 2008 World Cup in Division I. There he also played at the 2009 , 2010 and 2018 World Championships .
