The Taft is an 11.7 km long orographically left tributary of the Ulster in the Soisberger Kuppenrhön in the north of the Hessian Rhön , which rises on the eastern slope of the Lichtberg in the Hessian Kegelspiel in the Eiterfeld district ( district of Fulda ) and runs there almost completely until it flows into the district of Buttlars in the Thuringian Wartburg district .
course
The east-flowing Taft rises immediately south of Leibolz at an altitude of about 358 meters and flows through the towns of Großentaft and Treischfeld , until it finally leaves Eiterfeld and also the state of Hesse to flow through Wenigentaft and, after a short flow parallel to Ulster, to the northeast at a distance of only 25 to 120 meters, at a height of about 251 meters into the same. From the source to this point, this corresponds to an average bed slope of only about 9 ‰.
Tributaries
The Taft river system, which occupies 62.3 km² and produces 571 l / s (MQ), is laid out in a fan shape from the east around the Fulda - Werra watershed at the Hessischer Kegelspiel , with the northern arms running over the Eiterfeld area right up to the mouth , while the the southern sub-system of the Grüsselbach flows through the Rasdorf area.
Below is a counter-clockwise list from north to south, which also takes higher-order tributaries into account. For an order in the direction of flow of the taffeta, the table must be arranged according to the river code numbers (DGKZ).
