Tamba ( Japanese 丹波 市 , - shi ) is a city in Hyōgo prefecture on the Japanese main island of Honshū .

Tamba is north of Kobe , south of Asago and west of Fukuchiyama .
history
The city went on April 1, 2004 from the amalgamation of the Chō Aogaki ( 青 垣 町 , -chō ), Ichijima ( 市 島 町 , -chō ), Kaibara ( 柏 原 町 , -chō ), Kasuga ( 春日 町 , -chō ), Sannan ( 山南 町 , -chō ) and Hikami ( 氷上 町 , -chō ).
