Tang Xingqiang gained his first international experience in 2015 when he reached the semi-finals at the Asian Championships in Wuhan in the 200-meter run , where he was eliminated with 21.06 seconds. The following year he took part in the Chinese 4 x 100 meter relay at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and reached the final there , in which he came fourth with 37.90 s. At the 2017 IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas, he finished third in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 39.22 seconds and in the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1: 22.91 minutes fifth place. He then reached the finals at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar in the 100-meter run , but was disqualified there. With the relay he was able to win the gold medal in 39.06 s.
