Lai Chun Ho (born February 5, 1989 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese sprinter who competes internationally for Hong Kong.

Athletic career

Lai Chun Ho gained his first experience in international competitions at the Junior Asian Championships 2006 in Macau , where he finished seventh in the 100-meter run in 10.69 s . He then took part in the Junior World Championships in Beijing , but was also eliminated there with 10.69 s in the lead. The following year he reached the semi-finals at the Asian Championships in Amman , in which he was eliminated with 10.55 s. In 2008 he won the Junior Asian Championships in Jakarta in 10.43 s and won the bronze medal in the Hong Kong 4 x 100 meter relay in 41.17 s. He then took part in the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz and was eliminated there with 10.67 s in the semifinals. He qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he was eliminated with 10.63 s in the first round .

In 2009 he reached the semi-finals in the individual competition at the Asian Championships in Guangzhou and was seventh with the relay in 40.22 s. He then reached fourth place at the East Asian Games in Hong Kong and was disqualified in the final with the relay. The following year he won the bronze medal in the 60-meter run at the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran in 6.71 s . He then took part in the World Indoor Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated with 6.88 s in the run. In November he took part in the Asian Games in Guangzhou for the first time and was there both over 100 meters and fourth in the relay. At the Asian Championships in 2011 in Kobe , he won the silver medal behind the team from Japan with the relay in 39.26 s and over 100 meters he was eliminated with 10.67 s in the semifinals. He then won the bronze medal with the relay at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen and reached the quarter-finals in the individual competition. In 2012 he won the silver medal over 60 meters at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou in 6.78 s behind the Iranian Reza Ghasemi . He then took part again in the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul and was eliminated there with 6.97 s in the preliminary round. With the relay he qualified again for the Olympic Games in London , in which he was eliminated with 38.61 s in qualification .

At the 2013 Asian Championships in Pune , he celebrated his greatest success to date with winning the relay in 38.94 s. He then retired at the World Championships in Moscow with the relay in the run-up and won the silver medal at the East Asian Games in Tianjin . In 2014 he again took part in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , where he won the bronze medal with the relay in 38.98 s, but was only used there in the run-up. Two years later he retired from the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha with 7.14 s in the first round. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the third time , where he finished seventh with the Hong Kong relay in 39.48 seconds.
