The Adidas Tango

Tango Durlast - also known as Tango for short - was the official name of the game ball used in numerous soccer World Cups and European soccer championships .

properties

With the Tango, adidas introduced a new design in 1978 that was used over the next few years. The Tango was impregnated with a polyurethane layer against the expected rain in June and was a tad lighter than the Telstar Durlast . It also consisted of a total of 20 hexagonal and twelve pentagonal panels, of which the hexagonal panels were provided with a printed triad. With slight changes in the design, but hardly in its nature, it was also available for numerous other World and European Championships.

Use in tournaments

The ball was first used at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina and then, with slight changes, as Tango Italia at the 1980 European Football Championship in Italy . He was also used as Tango España at the 1982 World Cup in Spain , as Tango Mundial at the 1984 European Championship in France and as Tango Europa at the 1988 European Championship in Germany .

At the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine he was there as Tango 12 , which, like the Jabulani (match ball of the 2010 World Cup ), was tested by numerous club teams such as FC Bayern Munich and FC Chelsea .
