occupation

Solitary is a television film from the television crime series Tatort by ARD and ORF . The film was produced by WDR and first broadcast on August 21, 1988. It is the 209th episode in the crime scene series and the 17th with the chief detective Horst Schimanski ( Götz George ) and Christian Thanner ( Eberhard Feik ).

action

Ilona Vogtländer does not believe that her father killed his wife Eva. But Rolf Vogtländer, who is in prison, remains silent and asks Chief Detective Schimanski to prevent his daughter from doing further research. Dock workers find an unknown prostitute who has been strangled. Schimanski is so busy with the Vogtländer case, which has already been closed, that Thanner first has to conduct the investigation into the prostitute on his own. Ilona wants to find out more about her stepmother Eva and therefore mainly drives at night. She is lured into a trap, ambushed and is to be killed. But when Schimanski shows up, he manages to drive away the attackers. Through a newspaper report, Ilona learns about the dead woman found and tells Schimanski that she knew the young woman and that she lived in a brothel disguised as an apartment .

Schimanski and his colleague Thanner go to the apartment in question and discover that it is actually a brothel. While Thanner is bringing the three prostitutes to the station, Schimanski snatches a young man who has recently left the brothel. It happens to be one of the men who attacked Ilona the previous evening. During the interrogation, Thanner can find out from the young man that Ilona's stepmother Eva ran the brothel together with the freight forwarder Reiko Plewitsch. The young woman was strangled by his friend Jani because she wanted to betray both of them. On the way to Plewitsch, Thanner passes Plewitsch's secretary's car, who, like Eva Vogtländer, was strangled. It was thanks to Ilona that she tracked down the brothel disguised as an apartment.

The second thug Jani gains access to Ilona's apartment, but is rudely overwhelmed by Schimanski. Schimanski, Ilona, their father (accompanied by Hänschen, a colleague of Schimanski and Thanner) and Thanner finally all come to a confrontation in Plewitsch's forwarding company, where Ilona's father wants to make his daughter understand that he actually killed his wife, after learning of their machinations. Everything seems clear to Plewitsch, but suddenly Ilona takes up Schimanski's weapon and shoots Plewitsch down because she considers him the evil of the family tragedy.

criticism

filmforen.de said that director Kotulla “is true to his wonderfully stoic style, from which Eberhard Feik in particular knows how to benefit, who as Thanner on the permanent verge of a nervous breakdown is allowed to make some of the funniest appearances of his career as an investigator. [...] Great game by the wonderful Feik, which once again clearly proves that a Schimmi without his 'Thanner is only half the battle'. "

TV Spielfilm judged: “A great oldie with the 'Tatort' dream team. Shimei saves a beauty and Thanner pouts. Oh, that's great! "
