action

In a police helicopter , Chief Detective Schimanski circles an old factory building in search of a robbed money transporter . When he discovers him, he is attacked by the robbers . By the time Schimanski reached the vehicle, the perpetrators had long since fled. The commissioner and his colleague Thanner suspect that they have crossed the Rhine . The only boat they see is piloted by Schimanski's friend Frieder Schoen. Thanner immediately picks him up in the infirmary and Kriminalrat Koenigsberg suspects him because a similar act was carried out according to the same model in Schoen's residence in Düsseldorf. But Frieder Schoen has an alibi. At the time in question he was with Schimanski in a Dutch brothel .

To find out more, Schimanski tries his colleague Hänschen, who is currently investigating a gambling case undercover . He gets the tip from him to visit the hobbyist Albino, who works as a taxi driver. He is said to have built a jammer for the attack, but Albino tries to escape and is in custody taken. Schimanski looks for Frieder at his landing site and tries to fathom his real intentions over a beer together. Suddenly Thanner appears with Albino and Frieder is visibly surprised at what he skilfully covered over. When Albino is questioned, they find out that two men have asked him to build the jammer. A computer query is used to find out that Frieder is active with these gentlemen in the market segment with counterfeit furniture. Frieder runs an antique shop . Frieder Schoen is shadowed, which only shows that he stayed in an establishment for certain hours. The next morning, Albino is found hanged in his cell. Schimanski is quite upset and visits Frieder in his antique shop, where he tries to cook him soft. But Frieder remains tough and continues to be innocent.

Thanner and Schimanski follow Frieder's friend, the professor, to a hardware store and discover a camera installed in a bird house. They suspect that Frieder wants to rob the money transporter that is on its way to the hardware store. Schimanski warns Frieder, but nothing happens while monitoring the money transporter and they are called to a jeweler who has been robbed instead. Thanner is now annoyed because Schimanski had stopped shadowing Frieder at short notice and also warned him through his actions. Schimanski then tries to get some of the booty using Hänschen's card game art. But Hänschen loses everything to a friend of Frieder's, even his sports car and Schimanski's savings go on. In his distress, Schimanski asks Frieder to help him with a coup, namely to steal the cash register from a Mafia boss. He pretends to go to the Caribbean with Frieder afterwards . Schimanski is now playing a double game and neither Frieder Schoen nor Schimanski know what the other side is really planning. Since Frieder's accomplices no longer trust him, they pull off the coup alone.

In Hamburg, where Frieder's accomplices take over the money, Königsberg cannot discover Schimanski and draws the conclusion that he is in danger. Frieder's friends have since noticed that they are being watched by the police. This circumstance disappoints Frieder badly, he knocks down Schimanski and flees with his fellow soldiers by helicopter to his ship. Thanner finds his colleague and Schimanski remembers a docking point for ships from his childhood, from which he assumes that Frieder anchored there with his ship and then flees from there. In fact, Frieder and his ship were found at the suspected berth. There is a decisive duel between Schimanski and his former friend, in which he kills Frieder with several shots.

criticism

The TV magazine prisma found: "An exciting thriller by Klaus Emmerich ('Pizza Colonia') based on the script by the 'Schimanski' professionals Horst Vocks and Thomas Wittenburg ( 'Duisburg-Ruhrort' , 'The invisible opponent' , 'Miriam' ), who lives especially from the cat-and-mouse game between Götz George as an investigator and the 'investigator' Klaus Wennemann as a former friend and crook.
