Teatro de los Insurgentes

The Teatro de los Insurgentes is a theater in Mexico City . It was built between 1951 and 1953. The architect was José María Dávila . On the façade, is of Diego Rivera created mural history of theater in Mexico . The theater opened with a play in which Cantinflas played the leading role. The Teatro de los Insurgentes seats 1,100 spectators. During the 1968 Summer Olympics , the theater hosted weightlifting competitions .
