The Auditorio Nacional is an event hall in Mexico City near Chapultepec Park that seats 10,000 spectators. The hall is located on the Paseo de la Reforma , the main thoroughfare of the Mexican capital.

history

The Auditorio Nacional opened in 1952 and hosted volleyball and basketball games during the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1954 . In 1958 the San Francisco Ballet and the New York Philharmonic performed in the Auditorio Nacional .

During the 1968 Summer Olympics, gymnastics competitions were held in the Auditorio Nacional . For this, the hall was equipped with 3000 additional, mobile seats, so that there was a total of 12,450 spectators. As a result, mainly international concerts, exhibitions, dance events and film screenings took place. In 1990 the hall was renovated. In 1993 and 2007 the Miss Universe was chosen in the Auditorio Nacional .
