The area of Tettnang Forest with Hochwacht, Krüntenbühl, Reichenbühl, Argenhardter Kopf, Schoos and the steep edge of the Argental on the Schwandenbogen is a landscape protection area in the north that was designated by the Tettnang District Office as a lower nature conservation authority by ordinance of 19 September 1954 (LSG number 4.35.021) the Baden-Württemberg community of Langenargen and south of the city of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district in Germany .
location
The approximately 701 hectares (ha) large conservation area in the range of the Tettnanger forest belongs nature spatially to Constance pool and located at heights between about 430 and 549.4 m above sea level. NN in the "Argenhardter Kapf". It extends between the districts of Reutenen and Hagenbuchen in the north, which belong to Tettnang, the district road 7779 in the west, the municipal boundary to Kressbronn on Lake Constance and Langenargen with the landscape protection area Ice Age Rims of the Argental with Argenaue in the southeast and a narrow strip south of the federal highway 31 , to the west from Oberdorf , in the south. 39.93 percent (= 279.97 hectares) of the total area belong to the municipality of Langenargen, 56.83 percent (= 398.42 hectares) to Tettnang.
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of scenic points of geological importance for the history of the late glacial, such as the ice edge layers of the middle and upper Tettnang level.
The Tettnang geo-hiking trail leads to ten significant points . On the board at the first station, an overview map of the route is shown and the various uses of the Tettnang Forest are explained. Stations 6 to 10 will only be set up in the near future in the area of gravel mining.
