Theodor Fischer (painter, 1817)
Theodor Fischer , called Fischer-Poisson (born June 13, 1817 in Schwerin , † March 30, 1873 ibid) was a German painter .
Life
Theodor Fischer was born as the younger son of the French immigrant court sign master Louis Francois Poisson Marquis de Marigny (* 1784 Paris; † 1845 Schwerin), who Germanized his name to Ludwig Fischer in Schwerin , and his wife Charlotte, nee. Oehm (* 1793 in Schwerin; † 1860) born. He attended grammar school in Schwerin and initially received his artistic training from his father and from the court painter Carl Georg Schumacher . From 1839 to 1843 he studied at the Dresden Art Academy with Eduard Bendemann . After his father's death in 1845 he settled in his hometown, where he distinguished himself as a portrait painter. Some of his works are in the Schwerin State Museum .
Services
The work of the artist of realism remained largely limited to his closer home Mecklenburg, but was of no small importance. In addition to his portraits, Fischer-Poisson was also significantly involved in the painting of the Schwerin Palace , for which he received the silver palace medal from the Grand Duke at the inauguration in 1857 .
