Antony William "Tony" Brise (born March 28, 1952 in Erith , † November 29, 1975 in Arkley ) was an English racing car driver who contested ten world championship races in Formula 1 .

Career

After Brise won two of the three British Formula 3 championships in 1973 , he began his short Formula 1 career with Williams in 1975 . After a race he switched to the Embassy Hill Lola team founded by former Formula 1 world champion Graham Hill that same year . He reached his only world championship point with a sixth place at the Swedish Grand Prix in Anderstorp.

Brise died in a plane crash after approaching Elstree Airport in thick fog , which also killed Graham Hill, who piloted the plane, and four other team members.
