Torben Köhlbrandt
Torben Köhlbrandt (born May 26, 1979 in Oldenburg in Holstein ) is a German show jumper and Nations Cup rider .
Köhlbrandt was born in Oldenburg in Holstein in 1979 and grew up on the island of Fehmarn . In 1999 he finished his training as a hotel manager. From 2000 to 2002 he worked as a rider in the Rauert stable on Fehmarn. From 2002 to March 2009 he worked as a rider at the Maas Hell stallion station in Klein Offenseth-Sparrieshoop . In 2006 he was national champion of show jumping in Schleswig-Holstein, in 2009 he was vice national champion. For a short time he worked with Franke Sloothaak .
From 2009 he ran a stable with Heinrich-Hermann Engemann in Ibbenbüren , where u. a. the show jumper Emma Augier de Moussac trained. In 2011 Engemann withdrew from the company because he was too involved in his work as a trainer.
Among other things, Köhlbrandt trained the horses Canturo , Chupa Chup and Conceot , who achieved international success under Bernardo Alves . His business partners include, among others, the Haras Joter stud owned by Gerdau SA's chairman , Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter. The Brazilian show jumper Karina Harbich Johannpeter trains in Torben Köhlbrandt's stable.
Köhlbrandt rode in five Nations Cups for Germany so far. One of his greatest successes is a second place at the German Jumping Derby 2011 with C-Trenton Z , which he repeated the following year .
He trains with Heinrich-Hermann Engemann (co-national trainer of the show jumping riders) and Manfred Kötter .
