The company was formed in 2004 through the merger of the two US insurance companies The St. Paul Companies and Travelers Property Casuality Corporation :

  • The company The St. Paul Companies was founded in 1853 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
  • The company Travelers Property Casuality is a company part of 1864 in Hartford based company Travelers , the first in 1993 by the company Primerica was purchased. When Primerica merged with Citicorp to form Citigroup in 1998, the Travelers Property Casuality division was separated in 2002 . In 2004, Travelers Property Casuality finally merged with The St. Paul Companies .
