American Airlines Group, Inc. is an American holding company headquartered in Fort Worth in the US state of Texas . The company was founded on December 9, 2013 as part of the merger between AMR Corporation and US Airways Group .

Companies

As a holding company, several airlines are located under the umbrella of the American Airlines Group:

  • American Airlines (name will be retained for the merged airline)
  • US Airways (name and airline were integrated into the American Airlines fleet in autumn 2015 and thus discontinued)
  • American Eagle (an umbrella brand for the Group's own and third-party feeder airlines)
    • Envoy (the Group's own feeder airline , formerly American Eagle Airlines of American Airlines)
    • Piedmont Airlines (in-house feeder airline , brought in by US Airways)
    • PSA Airlines (the Group's own feeder airline , brought in by US Airways)
  • American Airlines Cargo (American Airlines cargo carrier)

  • US Airways Shuttle was a subsidiary of the US Airways Group from 1997 to 2000 and was then integrated into the US Airways fleet. The shuttle service was discontinued in 2013 as part of the merger with American .
  • US Airways Express was the umbrella brand for feeder flights on behalf of US Airways, comparable to the American Airlines umbrella brand American Eagle , in favor of which the name US Airways Express was abandoned in autumn 2015.
