History and sights

It is named after the Triendl homestead  (house number 10). In the Josephine (1.) Landesaufnahme  (1801/05) it is still mentioned as Fridelhof . As a special feature, the house has a simple Lüftlmalerei by Franz Xaver Pizzinini around 1920, with a picture of a saint and Tyrolean coat of arms.

The southern locations are called the test field . The name refers to the Rinn seed testing institute , the state institute for plant breeding and seed testing founded by Erwin Mayr (1899–1969) during the World War and headed for a long time . In 2000 this moved to the Agricultural State College Imst  (LLA Imst). The buildings were recently given up (today Schafferer Erdbau), office buildings, laboratory buildings with glass house, and the residential building (house number 2, with a mural by Walter Honeder , around 1956) are listed as a commercial monument in the Tyrolean art cadastre. The testing institute was known for the current genebank of the state of Tyrol with all registered cultivars and many important local varieties, especially grain.

Below the Triendl settlement, at the Zimmertalbach (formerly Teufelsmühlenbach) is the remainder of an old mill, called the Teufelsmühle .

The area is a residential and leisure area (Innsbruck local recreation area). The Patscherkofel cycle path Igls - Judenstein , also part of the Bike Trail Tirol Windegg - Matrei , runs through the village .
