Mallorca Challenge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mallorca Challenge is a series of one-day races for professional cyclists on the island of Mallorca .

The Mallorca Challenge was planned as a stage race where you can get in or out at any time. Since this was not allowed by the UCI , five one-day races were created in category 1.1. These have been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 . Up to and including 2009 there was still an overall classification in which those who had contested all five races were rated. Even then, points for the UCI classifications were only awarded for the individual one-day races. The series takes place annually in early February. During this time, many professional teams are in addition to the training camp on Mallorca, so that there are also many stars to be seen.
