The UEFA Regions 'Cup 2019 was the 11th edition of the UEFA Regions' Cup , the European championship for regional amateur national teams organized by UEFA .

The final round of the tournament was hosted by the Bavarian Football Association from June 18 to 26, 2019 . In the final, the selection from Lower Silesia ( Poland ) defeated the German selection, which was provided by the Bavarian Football Association, 3-2. After the success at the UEFA Regions' Cup 2007 it was the second title for the Lower Silesian selection. The defending champion Zagreb from Croatia was eliminated in the second round.

mode

The title of European Amateurs Champion will be played in a final tournament between eight qualified teams. The eight teams form two groups of 4 teams each. The two group winners reach the final and play the European champions.

The eight winners of the eight intermediate rounds qualify for the final tournament. A total of 32 teams in 8 groups take part in the intermediate rounds. The second round is hosted by a team from the respective group.

27 teams are set for the intermediate round. The other five starting positions are determined by the remaining 12 teams in a preliminary round with 3 groups of 4 teams. The group winners and the two best runners-up in the preliminary round qualify for the intermediate round. In the preliminary round and the intermediate round, the teams in each group played a tournament with one game each against each group opponent.

The group schedule for the preliminary round, the intermediate round and the final tournament is composed as follows in accordance with the regulations of the UEFA Regions' Cup (Regulation Articles 19.04 and 19.07):

There will be two recovery days between each game day, except between game day 1 and 2 of the final tournament. In the final tournament, there is only one recovery day between matchday 1 and 2.

Each of the 55 UEFA member associations was able to send a regional amateur team to represent the tournament. A total of 39 teams took part in the 11th UEFA Regions' Cup.

Draw for the preliminary and intermediate round

The draw for the preliminary and intermediate rounds took place on 6 December 2017 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon .

The following mode was used:

  • For the preliminary round, 12 teams were divided into 3 groups of 4 teams. No teams were set.
  • During the draw for the intermediate round, 32 teams were divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. Each group consisted of one team each from Pot A, Pot B and Pot C, as well as one team from either Pot D or one of the 5 teams that qualified for the intermediate round via the preliminary round (these 5 teams were not yet at the time of the draw known):
    • The group A winner of the preliminary round was assigned to group 1.
    • The group B winner of the preliminary round was assigned to group 2.
    • The group C winner of the preliminary round was assigned to group 3.
    • The best runner-up in the preliminary round was divided into group 4.
    • The second-best runner-up in the preliminary round was divided into group 5.
    • The 3 teams from Pot D were drawn into groups 6 to 8.

For political reasons, Russia and Ukraine were not drawn into the same group. The hosts of the preliminary and intermediate rounds were selected after the draw.

One of the eight hosts of the intermediate rounds will be selected as the host of the final tournament. On December 18, 2018, UEFA announced that the Bavarian Football Association was hosting the final tournament of the 2019 UEFA Regions' Cup.

The final tournament took place from June 18-26, 2019.

The draw for the groups for the final tournament took place on March 13, 2019, halfway through the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match between Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
