U 211 was a Type VII C submarine that was used by the German Navy during World War II .

U 211 was built in the Germania shipyard in Kiel and put into service on March 7, 1942. Under his only commanding officer, Lieutenant Karl HOME, it completed a total of five operations in the Atlantic from France, mostly from Brest . It sank two ships with a total of 12,587 GRT and damaged two more. On November 19, 1943 , the boat was sunk by a British Vickers Wellington during an attack on a convoy east of the Azores ( Lage ).
