Ulla you (born January 6, 1956 in Wittmund , East Friesland ) is a German politician ( FDP ), former State Secretary . D., administrative lawyer, former ministerial official and was first district councilor.

In the election for the 19th German Bundestag on September 24, 2017, she was elected to the Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list of the FDP. She is a full member of the budget committee and chairwoman of the audit committee and a deputy member of the legal and consumer protection committee and the electoral committee. She is also secretary in the German Bundestag and deputy chairwoman of the German-Irish parliamentary group.

Life

Raised in Wittmund you studied after the Abitur at Mariengymnasium Jever 1974 Law at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and completed after the first state examination the clerkship in the Higher Regional Court district Oldenburg . After the second state examination, she worked as a lawyer and notary's representative in Wittmund from 1983 to 1985 . In the fall of 1985, she took up a position at the Deutsche Bundesbank as deputy head of the legal department of the state central bank in Lower Saxony and was entrusted with special tasks for the then state central bank president Julia Dingwort-Nusseck . In 1988 you moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry for Federal and European Affairs as personal advisor and ministerial director of the then state chairman of the FDP Lower Saxony and Minister Heinrich Juergens (FDP). At the end of 1989 she moved to Brussels as a national expert at the EU Commission . a. in the then General Directorate “Internal Market, Commercial Economy and Industry”. From the end of 1991 she was entrusted with setting up and managing the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania office at the European Union in Brussels.

In 1997 you returned to Lower Saxony as a municipal electoral officer. The district council of the district of Uelzen had elected her in autumn 1996 with effect from April 1997 for twelve years as first district councilor and general representative of the senior district director (and later district administrator ) in the district of Uelzen. In 2005 she became Head of Division for Federal and European Affairs and Ministerial Conferences in the Lower Saxony Ministry for Environment and Climate Protection in Hanover. In 2007 she was appointed head of department and ministerial director. She was there until 2012. a. responsible for personnel, finances , cabinet and state parliament matters , climate protection and energy, also permanent representative of the State Secretary , representative of the state government in the 21st parliamentary committee of inquiry " Asse " and headed the Lower Saxony government commission on climate protection together with Uwe Schneidewind as deputy chairwoman. In January 2012 she was appointed State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection and Energy by Minister Stefan Birkner (FDP) . With the change of government in February 2013, she was put into temporary retirement .
