Unterkotzau is a district in the north district in the independent city of Hof in Bavaria .
location
The northern Regnitz flows into the Saale there . Unterkotzau is on the Leipzig – Hof railway line . The districts of Studentenberg and Hofeck and the municipality of Köditz border in the west, the municipality of Feilitzsch borders in the north.
history
The Unterkotzau manor was located in Unterkotzau , and its owners included the von Murring , Sparneck and Feilitzsch families . The place has a medieval town center, whose special features include several residential stalls. The 174 m long Unterkotzau viaduct is located in Unterkotzau. On April 12, 1945 this bridge was the target of an Allied air raid; However, the bombers missed their target and there were numerous deaths, especially in a camp with slave labor. On July 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the independent city of Hof.
