Urs Hefti

Urs Hefti (born July 20, 1944 in Klosters ; † January 20, 2008 in Vienna ) was a Swiss actor and member of the Vienna Burgtheater ensemble .

Career

Urs Hefti completed his acting training at the Zurich Acting Academy . From 1972 to 1977 he played at the State Theater Tübingen , then he moved to the State Theater Stuttgart for two years . Between 1980 and 1986 he was engaged at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , from which he, like many of his colleagues, followed director Claus Peymann to the Burgtheater. In 1993 he left the castle and went to the Berliner Ensemble , but returned to Vienna two years later. Since then he has been a permanent member of the ensemble again. He worked with well-known directors such as Luc Bondy , Andrea Breth , Achim Freyer , Klaus Michael Grüber , Manfred Karge , Alfred Kirchner , Matthias Langhoff , Heiner Müller , Christoph Nel , Peter Palitzsch , Claus Peymann, George Tabori , Jossi Wieler and Peter Zadek together. Between 1993 and 2000 he played at the Salzburg Festival . Often he also took on film roles.
