The following municipal areas are predominantly or entirely in the Vöckla-Agertal (in alphabetical order): Lambach , Neukirchen bei Lambach , Rüstorf , Redlham , Schlatt , Schwanenstadt , Timelkam and Vöcklabruck .

The spatial unit is surrounded by the following Upper Austrian spatial units (clockwise, starting in the north): Inn- and Hausruckviertler Hügelland , Traunschlucht , Ager-Traun-Terrassen , Vöckla-Ager-Hügelland and Attersee-Mondsee basin

The Vöckla-Agertal is divided into four sub-units:

  • Alluvial forest and cultivated land
  • Agricultural terraced fields
  • Striking edge of the terrain with Leiten forests
  • Dense settlement and industrial areas

Characteristic

  • A narrow valley from Vöckla and Ager with an outlet and a low terrace .
  • Austufe has mostly near-natural alluvial forest remains (Eschenau, remains of Silberweidenau and Grauweidenau). Sometimes the forest is patchy, especially on the Vöckla, gallery forests are rare. The forests are managed with plenter economy.
  • There are occasional 20 meter high streak walls in the lower part . The ager is largely regulated and yet an important bird area. Some large gravel pits exist.
  • The terrace and opening are densely built up and are used intensively for agriculture. The arable landscape is poor in cultural landscape elements and partly closely interwoven with the settlement area.
  • The terrace level is densely populated and has important industrial and commercial sites ( Lenzing AG , Spitz AG, Timelkam power station, etc.). For this purpose, some traffic axes cut the spatial unit (e.g. West Autobahn ) and the Attnang-Puchheim station railway junction is also located in the spatial unit.
  • The terrace slopes are often close to nature and shape the landscape. The near-natural hillside forests are predominantly beech and ash - maple and spruce forests .
  • There are individual spring outlets with tuff formation along the southern terrace slope. There are also many natural bushes.
