VSMPO-AVISMA ( Russian ВСМПО-АВИСМА ; VSPMO is the abbreviation of W (V) erchne s saldinskoje m etallurgitscheskoje p roiswodstwennoje o bedinenije, Russian: Верхнесалдинское металлургическое производственное объединение / Werchnesaldaer Metallurgical Production Association) is a company from Russia , based in Yekaterinburg . The company is listed in the RTS index on the Moscow Stock Exchange .

In 1998 VSMPO took over the controlling majority in the company AVISMA and the first cooperation agreement with the western aircraft industry was signed with the aircraft group Boeing .

The company is the world's largest producer of titanium ; 29,264 t were produced in 2014. The largest titanium production plant is located in Verkhnyaya Salda . The company also produces aluminum , magnesium and steel alloys.

VSMPO's contractual partners include in particular aircraft and space companies such as Boeing and Airbus .

In addition to its locations in Russia, VSMPO has locations in the Ukraine , England , Switzerland , Germany and the United States .
