Venice is a city (with the status " City ") in Madison County in the west of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 Venice had 1890 inhabitants.
The city is located in the eastern part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area called Metro-East around the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri .

Venice is located in the northeastern suburb of St. Louis on the east bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with the state of Missouri.
