The SNHU Arena (full name: Southern New Hampshire University Arena ) is a multi-purpose arena in the US city ​​of Manchester in the state of New Hampshire . It was the venue for the home games of the Manchester Monarchs , two franchises of the American Hockey League and the ECHL . In 2016, the New England Liberty from the Legends Football League (LFL) also used the arena.

history

The SNHU Arena was from its opening until 2015, the venue for the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League before the team moved and now another franchise under the same name from the ECHL uses the arena. The arena was also used regularly by the Manchester Wolves , a team from arenafootball2 . On February 14, 2005, the AHL All-Star Game between PlanetUSA and the Canadian All-Stars took place in the arena . In 2005 the arena was also used to host the WWE backlash competitions.

In addition, numerous other events such as concerts , sporting events ( basketball and wrestling ) took place in the hall . The Harlem Globetrotters basketball show performed several times in the arena. In addition, numerous artists and bands such as Van Halen , Michael Bublé , Carrie Underwood , Elton John , Linkin Park and Rod Stewart gave concerts in the event hall.

On February 2, 2016 it was announced that the hall will be named SNHU Arena from September 1 of that year . Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) acquired the naming rights in cooperation with the operating company SMG for a period of ten years.
