politics
coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved by the district on March 7, 2005.
Blazon : "A blue cap in silver, covered with a flying golden lark."
The design of the coat of arms for the Elbe-Heide administrative community was commissioned by the administrative offices, which existed in 2004 and then merged, to the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch in order to create a seal, on the flag and in other use that complies with the rules of heraldry to use the coat of arms approved by the state government as a national emblem.
The symbolism shows a Göpel as a classic herald image. In blue it symbolizes the confluence of the Elbe and Ohre rivers and lies on a silver (white) shield background, which stands for the potash salt. The heather symbolizes the rising lark.
Another interpretation is the amalgamation of the three administrative communities, which meet through the Göpel in the center of the coat of arms from which the bird rises. This symbol of a soaring bird that rises and sets off for new shores is not only a classic motif of mythology and iconography ( phoenix ), but also has a current reference to the concrete example. Because the three former administrative communities united to bundle the strengths of the region and to start a positive development for the population - an excellent symbol that stands out in the coat of arms both heraldically correct and unmistakable to other official coats of arms.
The official colors are blue-white-blue.
The colors of the administrative community are - derived from the motif and shield color of the coat of arms - blue / silver (white).
flag
The flag is blue-white-blue (1: 4: 1) striped (longitudinal shape: stripes running vertically, transverse shape: stripes running horizontally) and is centered with the coat of arms of the administrative community.
